Did you know that with their fibrous, shallow roots, currants are ideal candidates for drip irrigation? Just keep the plants watered until the fruit is harvested; then, when growth ceases, watering frequency can be reduced! (Note that plants stressed for water are susceptible to mildew. ZOWEE!)
